Organisation: Radioactive Waste Management Limited
Creating a safer future by managing radioactive waste effectively, to protect people and the environment.
From electricity production to defence of the nation and medical uses, the UK has benefitted from nuclear technology for more than 60 years. Now Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) is working to support and deliver safe and secure approaches to the way we continue in managing radioactive waste effectively to protect people and the environment.
As part of this work, RWM will be leading delivery of a major infrastructure project called a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for the permanent disposal of radioactive wastes. Similar projects are already underway in countries like Finland and Sweden. RWM, as the developer, will work in partnership with willing local communities - providing jobs, skills and investment for more than 100 years.
As Chief Information Security Officer, you will provide specialist advice to others within the company on information security in accordance with the HMG Security Policy Framework, ensuring appropriate control measures are in place to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of RWM’s information assets and systems.
Reporting to the HSSEQ Director, you will work closely with the Head of HSSEQ Systems and Security Manager to ensure alignment of information security arrangements with RWM’s security, resilience and business continuity arrangements as our programme progresses through engagement with community, large scale geological investigations and eventually the construction and operation of a GDF to dispose of the UK’s radioactive waste – one of the largest infrastructure projects planned in the UK.
